DTF Pressing Instructions
Follow these instructions carefully to achieve the best results with your Direct to Film (DTF) transfers. Proper application ensures long-lasting, vibrant prints.
Recommended Heat Press Settings
- Temperature: 315°F – 325°F
- Time: 10–15 seconds
- Pressure: Medium to firm
👉 A commercial heat press is strongly recommended for best results.
Step-by-Step Application
1. Pre-Press Garment
- Press the garment for 3–5 seconds
- Removes moisture and wrinkles
- Ensures a smooth surface
2. Position the Transfer
- Place the transfer design side down on the garment
- Make sure it is straight and properly aligned
3. Heat Press
- Press at 315–325°F for 10–15 seconds
- Apply medium to firm pressure
4. Peel the Film
- Allow the transfer to cool slightly (warm peel)
- Peel the film smoothly from one corner
👉 If the design lifts, press again for a few more seconds.
5. Re-Press (Important)
- Cover with parchment paper or Teflon sheet
- Press again for 5–10 seconds
👉 This step improves durability and finish.
Fabric Compatibility
DTF transfers work on a wide range of materials:
- Cotton
- Polyester
- Cotton/Poly blends
- Light and dark fabrics
Washing Instructions
For long-lasting results:
- Wait 24 hours before washing
- Wash inside out
- Use cold water
- Do not bleach
- Tumble dry low or air dry
- Do not iron directly on the design
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- ❌ Using low pressure
- ❌ Incorrect temperature
- ❌ Skipping the re-press step
- ❌ Peeling too early or too aggressively
- ❌ Using household irons (not recommended)
